How to Install VMware vCenter 5.1 Single Sign On (SSO)

vCenter Single Sign-On (SSO) is a component of the VMware Cloud Suite. SSO deals with identity management for administrators and applications that interact with the vSphere platform.

Run the installer

Accept the Licence agreement

VMware server 2008 R2 [35]-2016-08-02-16-02-59

Select the proper vCenter Single Sign On deployment type. In this scenario Create the primary node for a new vCenter Single Sign On installation is selected.

In this scenario Install basic vCenter Single Sign On is selected.

Provide a password for the administrator account (admin@System-Domain) which is created by default. These credentials are needed when installing vCenter server and vCenter Inventory server.

Select the appropriate option to install the database.

FQDN of the SSO server.

Tick Use Network Service account

Decide the location to install the vCenter Single Sign On

Provide HTTPS port

Press Install

VMware server 2008 R2 [35]-2016-08-02-16-08-21

VMware server 2008 R2 [35]-2016-08-02-16-14-07

Press Finish to close the Wizard.

Next step is to Install vCenter Inventory Service.
